Cabin Fever

It's been a long weekend, but it's actually been kind of enjoyable. I've learned that we can just lay low and have fun.:)

Of course, I had to keep us busy for my own sanity. After playing in the snow for a few hours, we decided to make some cookies. I had my fair share of raw cookie dough, but lucky for me after seeing the kids have their hands all over the dough, I couldn't eat them.:)

We colored and did plenty of crafts... Here they are filling Santa's beard in with cotton balls.:)

We also became raga-muffin couch potatoes! We spent the majority of the weekend unshowerd and as bums. It was fun. We built tents, read stories, and watched tons of television. Chris had to watch his Cowboys play last night. Addie wanted to watch it with him so I told Chris to teach her how to watch football. He made her sit by him, and then said, "Addie, it's like this. Ya just sit back and RELAX." Ha!

Addie had to wear Chris's pajamas. Here she is in his skull boxers and pajama shirt. This is after she changed out of the jedi pajamas. So lovely, Add.:)

We eventually got showered and fixed up. This girl cracks me up. This weekend she started potty training herself. She goes to the bathroom and screams, "I NEED MY PRIIIIIVACY!" Then she goes all by herself without help. She's turning into little Miss Independent.

Tonight, Todd, Sarah, the boys, Nona and Papa came over to have pizza- Thanks Nona and Papa. The kids had so much fun together... and we tried to quickly snap a Christmas card picture for my parents.

I don't know why, but something tells me that these are under consideration!

Snow Day

The kids and I have had quite a weekend being snowed in. We got around 20 inches and have not left the house- except for walking to a huge hill to sleigh ride. If you know me, I'm not one to stick around the house- I'm an on the go girl. Surprisingly, the kids have been GREAT... We played out in the snow. Chris could have stayed out all day, but Addie is like her mama and is a warm weather girl.:)

Big boy in a little class...

I know Chris is a big kid... but man! Who is that third grader in that preschool class!!!

It's my sweet, sweet Christopher...

Chris had his Christmas... or should I say holiday program this week at school. He did so well and was so cute. After the first song, Addie yelled out, "Hi Chrissy!" Then Chris yelled back, "Hi Addie," and blew a kiss. It disrupted the program, but everyone, including me was like, "Awwwww!"

At dinner, Chris looked at Brendan and I and said the funniest thing ever... We were talking about his music teacher who he has had the biggest crush on for two years,
Chris- Don't laugh at me. I know I'm only five years old and I'm just a kid, but I love her.
Mommy- Oh really, why do you love her?
Chris- Because... She's pretty and she talks to me a lot.
Mommy~ Oh... so, what does she talk to you about, what does she say?
Chris- She looks at me and says, "Hey Christopher, stop talking to Herbie." HA!!!

Blackmail material

Ha! Brendan and I heard Chris and Addie having so much fun this morning- They were just giggling away... This is what we found... Why do I think Chris will hate this picture one day!... I love the glasses Miss Add!:)

The Good 'Ole Ruritan Club

I wrote last year how it's an annual thing that we go to the Ruritan Christmas dinner because my Pappy is an Honorary Member... and this year was no different. I love my family sooooo much and I'm so happy when we're all together.

Nona and Addie- don't they look alike?

Jack and Addie

Pretty girl

Brother and Sister

My Chrissy

Oh Nanny- I don't think you'll ever stop and I hope to be just like you one day!

Averey... anything for a free movie ticket:)

The foursome... trying to get a Christmas card picture... but this didn't make the cut:(

Hopefully what the future holds... I had J.D. and Bak-Bak take this and I was joking it was a cute family portrait- meaning like them and their kids... but now that I look at it- It kind of looks like I have four kids!

For you, Todd

Tonight, we went to the Bull Run Festival of lights with Nona and Papa. I'd love to show you pictures, but we didn't get out of the car because the carnival is only open on weekends- oops! It's o.k. though because it was still worth the drive- the kids LOVED the lights and they all conked out 2 minutes after leaving the park- well, everyone except Mage...

Mage was sooo talkative tonight. He was cracking us all up, singing, telling stories, and being sooo sweet. This is one of his stories he told us...

Mage- "My daddy's name is Todd. He's so nice."
Shelley- Why is he so nice?
Mage- "My daddy can build anything. He works and makes money so I can buy the Choo-Choo Express."
Shelley- Is Todd ever mean? (HA!)
Mage- "No, he loves me and his Sarah, and Jack." AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.:)

An open letter to my daughter...

My dearest Addison,

For 2 1/2 years of your life, you were nothing short of an angel. I don't think I ever yelled at you. You were the sweetest baby and little girl I know. You slept, ate, played, shared, and pretty much did everything perfect. You will always be perfect in my eyes and you will always be my sweet angel... But what happened to you!?! You suddenly have a mind of your own, want to do things on your own, don't want to take a nap, are stubborn, and independent. As Mommy's always do, they try to find a reason why... and I'm totally in denial and am blaming it on moving you to a big girl bed. I mean, you haven't gotten a great nap, so you must be tired. Please tell me this isn't the start of the terrible two's... I thought you'd never hit them. Please bring back my sweet Addie.

I love you with all of my heart,
Mommy

Leesburg Christmas Festival...

I LOVE free activities, especially when they are right in our town! On Saturday, we went to the Leesburg Christmas Festival, and the kids had a ball!!!

They played on the fun bus...

rode on the train,

hung out with Santa,

helped with a juggling act,

played in moonbounces,

rode on a mechanical snowboard,

got balloons,

and even had carictatures made...

It was a great day... and I'm glad I got my use out of my city taxes.:)

My Rock Star

Oh Christopher... I love ya honey... This is how you've been making me style your hair... and I've been going with it- because when I didn't agree to do it, you did it yourself with your sister's Mustella lotion!

One of those days

If the kids weren't so darn cute, I'd be pulling my hair out!!! Today, we were on our way out, we got to the car, and I realized I had left the keys inside... the locked house. My garage was locked from the inside, so we were stuck outside in the cold:( Luckily Nona came to the rescue and picked us up. We hung out at the outlets until our realtor was able to unlock our house. Yes, I said realtor... I guess I haven't mentioned it on here~ Our house has been on the market. We decided to see if we could sell- which hasn't gone that well. We put a contract on our DREAM house and it was accepted... but we just can't get rid of ours... so we'll see what happens. As my mom says, if it's meant to be, it's meant to be:)

Our first snow

Man, I love it when Brendan's home!!! We had our first snow of the year, and Brendan had both kids out in the snow all day! When he's gone, I have to do this, but I HATE cold weather! Brendan and Chris made quite the snowman. It was so cute... but it didn't last long- right after the picture, it was tackled to the ground!

The kids have missed Daddy lately because he's been doing a lot of traveling. We were riding down the road, and Addie randomly started to talk... "I LOVE my Daddy. He's got BIG muscles." Ha!

Sweetness

Soooo sweet- this is how the kids fell asleep last night:) Bless them:)

So, Chris has officially learned how to use the cell phone. He's called Sara Curtis... and today when I was on the phone I had a call. It was Chris~ he even knows how to dial our number...

Mommy~ Hello, this is Chris McCullers' house.
Chris~ (Hiding in the corner on my cell phone) Hi. This is a poor person who needs money.
Mommy~ And why do you need money?
Chris~ Because I need a WII for Christmas. And I'm a teenager and need a shooting game.

Gotta love him.:)

Here we go again...

O.k... it's never a dull moment around here. Please don't die of laughter about what I'm about to partake in, and wish me luck. I'm totally putting myself out there, and this may even beat when I accidentally posted my weight on my blog! Check it out, and I hope you'll follow along!

Just when I thought he knew it all...

Such a little cutie:)

Chris came home from school this week and was quite confused...
"Hey Mommy, who is this Christ guy? I know who Jesus is, but they kept talking about a guy named Christ!?!"

Ha!

Addie has been quite the sweetheart lately... last night when I was watching Friday Night Lights, I was bawling as usual. She climbed up on me, wiped away my tears and said, "Don't cwy honey," in the sweetest little girl voice you've ever heard!!! She says some words so sweet. I wish I could record how she says Chris... it's "Cwis".
