I love them bigger...

than the galaxy... or at least that's what we always say to each other. I have sooooo much to be thankful for this year:)

Putt-Putt

After visiting with Santa, we played Putt-Putt golf. This is our first time playing~ I never thought we'd last past four holes... but the kids LOVED it. Addie would drop her ball in the hole, and Chris played all 18 holes. Get ready Averey~ it's tournament time at the beach this year!

I joined in around hole #8. Brendan and I have always been super competitive at Putt-Putt... it's one of the only things I can beat him at fair and square. I was in the lead the entire game... trash talking and all... until I choked on hole #18.:( I still want a rematch!

Gram tagged along and made sure we had everything, and helped with the kids when Brendan and I were putting... we were too serious and needed our concentration!

The first of many...

While we were at the lake, we took advantage of some local activities... We drove around and saw Christmas lights, and we saw the arrival of Santa at the Marina!!! I'm sure my children will sit on Ho-Ho's lap a million times in the next month~ and I will be snapping pictures every time. It's so cute how much excitement they have about the holiday.

We waited outside at the Marina... and Santa arrived by boat!

The kids got to sit on his lap and talk to him. Chris wants the Wii... and Addie wants a baby doll:)

Chris is so funny- he gets really nervous around Santa... It's so cute... and this year he's noticed that all of the Santa's aren't actually the same guy. This Santa had a pony tail... so we explained that some Santas are his helpers and report back to him what the kids want and how they act:) It's working for now:)

Skinny Bitch

Let's just say everything that Joanie ever cooks is amazing... but this year I wasn't able to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner as much as usual. Ya see, I've always looked up to and admired my cousin Adrea~ she's the sweetest person ever, and despite having a kid, she is totally drop-dead gorgeous... Makes me nuts! Anyways... she once told me that I should read the book Skinny Bitch. When I was away with the girls this month, I had big plans of reading it on the beach... but we all know the hurricane derailed those plans! I finally got to read it at the lake... I won't go into details... but I am now a vegetarian. Although, I think that this plan may backfire on my weight loss~ take away my meat, chicken, etc... and I have a diet of bread and pasta... and things like this:...

Since I couldn't indulge in the stuffing (beacause it had sausage) I made up for it with pie:) So much for losing weight by reading this book.

BUT... speaking of losing weight- I am about to start a journey that I'm sure will have some of you laughing your a$$es off... let's just hope it helps me get rid of mine... I'll fill you in more on what I'm talking about later this week... but for now, I'll give you a couple of hints... It involves blogging, L.A. boxing, and my weight... and it should be very interesting!

Thanksgiving 2009

This is the first year that Brendan and I decided to spend Thanksgiving with just one side of the family instead of trying to cram both families into one weekend... While I missed hanging out with my family, I will have to say that it worked out great~ We weren't rushing through dinner to leave, we weren't holding one family up to eat, and we were able to sit back, relax, and enjoy ourselves. We traveled down to the lake on Wednesday night, and had a fabulous, long weekend at SML. Great Grandmom got to spend the week with us and get her fill of the kids~ and then some, I'm sure:) Joanie fixed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner as always... and we spent five days doing nothing but eating and enjoying each other's company... with a few extra activities thrown in... Can we say GO HOKIES!!! It was a great weekend with a lot of R&R... Brendan and I even had an entire day that was a date day... We went shopping and went to the movies... if you are looking for a good movie- I highly recomend "The Blind Side."

Sittin' on the dock of the bay...

Love, pure love. Need I say more?
