Mr. Handsome
I can't believe this little boy is going to be five in just a couple of weeks... He's growing up too fast. We went to IHOP for dinner the other night b/c I heard that "kids eat free" and Brendan had been gone for days, so I wasn't in the mood to fix dinner... Needless to say when I got my bill I was shocked- the "kids eat free" ended on Sunday so thirty dollars later, we were all fed. The kids had been out shopping with me and it was a late dinner... Let's just say they were definatly testing my patience. On the way home, I had a stern mommy voice and was telling them how upset I was that they couldn't behave and use manners in public. Chris had to lighten the mood as always and say, "But mommy, we were good, and we weren't in public, we were at Ihop."

Fall Festivals...
The kids were so good today, and it was so nice out, I decided to treat them to a special activity:) Can I just tell you how much I love fall festivals!!! I would go to one every day if they weren't so expensive! I found a coupon for a discounted admission at Layngs Flower Farm- so we spent a good three hours there today!!! We enjoyed a hayride, moon bounces, painting pumpkins, free popcorn, slides, a hay maze, slides, and more! It was a great way to spend the afternoon!

Addie made me do the slides with her... and I went flying!

This is worth the money:)

If you were a fly on our wall...
I sometimes refrain from posting things on my blog because some of you might think we live in a crazy house... but I want my kids to read about all of their funny stories when they are older...
The other night, we were at my parents house for dinner. Addie had on a nice outfit, so I had her take her shirt off so she wouldn't mess it up...
Nana~ "Oh Addie, I see your boobies... Wait, truth be told, she actually said tittys. I should try to sugar coat it, but I guess I shouldn't. I about had a fit b/c Chris was at the table and the last word I want him saying in school is tittys. I gave my mom a death look, and then said, "Mom, don't say that!"
Chris~ Yeah Nona, they aren't called that.
Mommy~ Oh really, Chris, What are they called?
Chris~ They're called nibbles. They are just nibbles. Dean Alex told me that! Ha!
And then today, I went to the gym in the morning. I forgot to pack my bra, but didn't realize it until after I showered. I didn't want to put my sweaty sportsbra back on, so I just decided to free-boob it until we got home since I had on a loose shirt. No big deal... except when I was carrying Addie out of the gym. She had grasped my shirt, and saw down it... and then proceeded to yell in the crowded reception area of the gym, "Oh no, Mom! You have no bras on, You have no bras on!" Nice.
I promise you, we're not all potty talk around our household... Addie has started copying what Chris and I always say to each other... "I love you bigger than the galaxy," and it's just as sweet as ever. And Mr. Topher cracks me up... At the end of our prayers, we always say... God Bless, Mommy, Daddy, Chris, Addie... and we name a couple 100 other people, and then say "and all the people we love and care about." Addie has learned that part... but Chris was teaching it to her... and he thought that all this time we've been saying, "and all the people in caramel." Ha!

Just an ordinary weekend...
For the first time in a loooonnnng time, we actually stayed at home and didn't do much this weekend... and it was kind of nice! We didn't have any plans, and I actually worked one night, so Brendan took Chris to his flag football game while I slept to recover from an overnight! Wouldn't ya know, Chris ran the length of the field and scored a touchdown! and I missed it! We had a lot of family time, watched some football--- Can we just say GO HOKIES... and Redskins! Brendan learned a valuable lesson this weekend- you really have to watch what you say around your kids... Chris was watching the Dallas game, and just like his Daddy said, "Man that was one hell of a pass!" Yeah, not so good! We rounded out the weekend with hanging out with Aunt Ra-Ra and Uncle Dave and having "polka-dot" aka pepperoni pizza- as Mage calls it, visiting Nanny and Pappy, and making a trip to the mall. The kids had fun playing at the play area... but we literally walked away with nothing and came home to order things online after the kids were in bed!
I love old pictures:)

Eight Hour Playdate
Aunt Ra-Ra and I are famous for getting together for a playdate, and then realizing we missed naptime, deciding our hubbys are both going to be home late from work, and then just keeping the kids up until bedtime... Today we did just that. It's actually really nice because we have adult company and we sort of tag team it througout the day.
Today, we started out with a 2 hour playdate with my friend Rosie and her two kids. Hey, when you have four, why not add two more... The more the merrier:)

Then I had a brilliant idea to let the kids paint. Aunt Ra-Ra even made stamps out of apples for the kids:)
Sweet Addie-Tay- always a smile:)

Jack had the best painting out of everyone... and he even managed to turn himself into a masterpiece.

Mage, the artist. Mage LOVED painting, and after it dried- we noticed he had painted a perfect dinosaur!

Going Away Bash
There are three little boys that live down the street that Chris and Addie have grown extremely close to... and Wednesday they moved:( We will miss them soooo much! We had five neighborhood families over Wednesday night to say good-bye to the boys, to have dinner, and to play one last time. I didn't have my camera out much because I was busy entertaining, watching about ten boys play tackle football in our back yard, and trying to keep Addie from kissing her boyfriend- yes, she has a little boyfriend... but I can assure you it was a great night~ and Chris, being the social butterfly that he is, loved his little get together for his friends.

What do I have going on in MY house???
Never, did I ever think I would have this happen to me... My son is brainwashed... and LOVES the Cowboys:( He's become quite the NFL fan~ he recognizes bumper stickers and will even be riding down the rode, see one, and start saying, "Boooo Steelers." On Monday night, we let him stay up with Daddy to cheer on the Cowboys. He thought he was hot stuff until he fell asleep at halftime:) Eventhough they were cheering for the worst team in the world, it was cute to see the Father/Son bonding:)
